Since 2009, more than 56000 faked drill bits and packaging have been seized during raid actions. The raids have been conducted on behalf of PGM by the Chinese authority Administration for Industry and Commerce (AIC). The seized drill bits have been destroyed and the counterfeiters have been penalized.
PGM mark is protected nearly world-wide as International Trade Mark or via registrations at the national patent and trade mark offices. Trade mark infringements are traced in cooperation with local law firms and authorities.
PGM mark has established world-wide as mark for safety and quality of hanmer drill bits (SDS drill bits) and rotary / percussion drill bits. PGM mark is granted to manufacturers only, not to distributors or private labels.
PGM certified hammer drill bits (e. g. SDSplus, SDSmax) and masonry drill bits (rotary or percussion drill bits with cylindrical shank) are marked with PGM mar in addition with the name or trademark of the manufacturer and/or with a manufacturer code (two digit number or letter combination) as follows:
